Mental Wellness In a Covid-19 World

6 weeks of Shelter in Place and now a few more!

Perhaps this quarantine lifestyle is highlighting the little emotional margin in your life.

Are you cracking?
Snapping at those you love the most?
Is all this togetherness putting strains on your marriage?
Showing issues that have been under the surface for awhile?
Are you responding to what seems like house arrest in ways that even surprise you?

You aren’t alone. The past few weeks perhaps have shone a bright light on some of your weak areas. After talking to a mental health professional friend and helping another check in to a psychiatric hospital this week, mental wellness is a growing issue.

What to do?
  1. Take time each day to decompress. Go on a walk, get some exercise, read a book, whatever works for you.
  2. I know it sounds cliche, but read your Bible. Jesus is our ever present help in times of trouble. Go to Him daily.
  3. Pray. Talk to Him, lay it out there. Then be still and know He is God.
  4. Need to talk to someone? Call 816-984-8300 or email me at [email protected]. One of my team members or I will set up a time to talk.

Allow Jesus words stir hope in you:
"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33
