THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST: WHY COLOSSIANS? WHY NOW?

A heavy fog has settled over our world—and often over the church. Competing philosophies, secular humanism, spiritual superstition, a propaganda war, based on emotions and self-made religion blur our discernment and dull the clarity of the gospel. Just like first-century Colossae, the winds are shifting fast. Some respond with rigid legalism. Others chase conspiracies or cultural saviors. Many simply drift and shipwreck their faith. And the lighthouse of biblical truth? Too often ignored.

That’s why we’re launching The Supremacy of Christ: A Study in Colossians.

Though written to a small church nearly 2,000 years ago, the letter to the Colossians speaks directly to us. The heresies Paul confronted haven’t disappeared—they’ve just changed names and packaging. Self-promoting legalism, self-centered humanism, and “deeper knowledge” that promises freedom but delivers confusion are alive and well. And none of them can fix what’s broken in us or in our world.

Only Christ can.

Paul writes to remind believers of a bedrock truth we desperately need today: Jesus is sufficient—as our Lord, our life, and our guide. Not Jesus plus politics. Not Jesus plus philosophy. Not Jesus plus rules. Jesus alone.

In Christ, we discover who we are: image-bearers created on purpose and for a great purpose. In Christ, we learn how to love—flowing from faith and anchored in hope. In Christ, we gain true knowledge—not information that inflates pride, but wisdom that transforms lives. And in Christ, we are rescued, redeemed, forgiven, and transferred into a new kingdom.

This is the gospel: Jesus lived the life we could not live, died the death we deserved, and rose again to make us new. That gospel still bears fruit. It still transforms lives. And it still shines clearly—if we keep our eyes fixed on Him.

In a chaotic world, we don’t need new answers.

We need the unchanging Christ.

Join us as we open Colossians 1:1–14 and rediscover why Jesus is better—and why He is enough.
