Frequently Asked questions

A. Fellowship Academy classes will take place at the Fellowship Church, Greenwood campus. Classes will meet each Monday and Wednesday from 9am-3:30pm from August through May.

A. Our academic program offers strong instruction and engaging, hands-on learning experiences in core subjects such as reading, grammar, writing, math, science, and history/geography, along with enriching extracurricular classes in art, music, and physical education.

A. For the 2026–2027 school year, we will offer classes for K4 through 8th grade. Please note that K4 students must be 4 years old by August 10. At this time, we do not offer high school classes.

A. You are the main educator as a homeschool parent, and we are here to partner with you in the homeschool journey. Yes, we do take attendance for our record in case of emergency, however, according to law, you are responsible for keeping track of those hours (“attendance”), work samples, etc. You would be the teacher of record. If you were going out of town, you would just need to let the teacher know so that they could send home any extra papers for you.

A. We use Abeka as our primary curriculum for elementary grades (K4–6th), providing a solid foundation for academic success. Students in 5th–6th grade will continue with Abeka while also incorporating Explore the Bible (Lifeway) as part of their class rotation. For 7th–8th grade, we plan to use the following curriculum:

  • Science: Apologia
  • Math: Saxon
  • History: Abeka
  • Language Arts: Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW)
  • Bible: Lifeway – Explore the Bible

Our teachers supplement lessons with additional resources and remove unnecessary busy work to create a fun and engaging learning experience. Parents will receive a detailed list of required books and supplies.

A. We have hired qualified, caring, Christian teachers with college degrees that have classroom experience. All teachers undergo background checks and trainings. Teachers will assign work for parents to help students complete at home on the “at home” days. Parents can manage their “at home” days to allow for families to attend FCHA field trips and other extras they choose to add. Parents retain the ability to determine the grades and keep the records for their child.

We encourage every homeschool parent to know, understand, and comply with Missouri Homeschool Law. https://hslda.org/post/how-to-comply-with-missouris-homeschool-law.

A. Parents will be able to drop their children off each Monday and Wednesday morning and pick them up at the end of the day. We gladly welcome parent volunteers for our parties, special events and activities.

  • Fall – Meet Your Teacher Night, Curriculum Night for Parents, School Photos, Grandparents Day, Book Fair, and Fall Parties
  • Winter – Hot Chocolate Art Walk, Fa-la-la-la-la All-School Assembly (Christmas Celebration), and Valentine’s Day Parties
  • Spring – Science Week with a Science Fair, Spring Celebration Program featuring Kindergarten Graduation, Art Fair, Music Program, Yearbooks, and Field Day
  • Other – Weekly Chapel every Monday to begin the week with worship and a Bible lesson, plus one or two optional family field trips each month

A. We do not provide grades or transcripts. Parents remain the primary educators and will follow Missouri Homeschool law. While we do not assign grades to papers or assignments at FCHA, we offer guidance and feedback to both students and parents. By following homeschool requirements, you will maintain records of your child’s work, enabling you to create grades and transcripts when needed. Our role is to partner with parents by providing school experiences, lesson plans, and resources to help you succeed in your homeschooling journey. Have questions? We’re here to help!

A. We do not supply books for students. After enrollment, parents will receive a list of required books and supplies for each student and will be responsible for purchasing these items.

A. Fellowship Church offers an enrichment program that meets on Tuesdays at our Raymore campus and offers engaging classes, hands-on learning, and community-focused enrichment to complement your homeschool curriculum. Families are welcome to participate in one or both programs. If you have questions or would like more information, please visit the website at https://fcfamily.org/fche.
